BASS History
In 1988, a group of individuals in Butte saw that HIV/AIDS was not only a problem in big cities but was coming to small town America. This group knew that because of the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS that people infected with the HIV virus their family, friends and loved ones would need emotional and financial assistance. In October of 1991, Butte AIDS Supports Services became a 501(c) (3) corporation. The organization is still an all volunteer organization.
